Yoke detent spring and pin needed for a pre-WWII N frame
Futzing around cleaning a 2nd model .44 HE shooter last night I discovered the yoke detent spring and pin are missing -- for decades, probably, judging by the accumulation of gunk in the drilled hole and dimple. Curious, I checked a few other pre-war shooters - no spring or pin in those either. I know these are not vital to function but it would be nice to restore this feature to my pre-war shooters. Any chance of finding springs and pins anywhere? New manufacture is fine as these guns are shooters.

I would take the yoke to a big hardware store and find a small spring. Drill bits make good pins; just cut to size and round one end.

Like Muley Gil said they are very easy to make, here's a photo of one I made for my TL from a drill bit a flint spring out of a Bic lighter.

Simply amazing. I put out the word on needing the same thing for my 44 HE and a Forum member was kind enough to send me one with two springs. There are some great folks on this Forum. I won't mention his name, but he may see your want, and may have another to spare. Big Larry

I have substituted ball point ink pen springs for some purposes, maybe too big for your needs. The cylinder latch spring should be about the same size and should be more readily available.
