Default Cleaning some prewar 22s on football Sunday

Well, I threw my back out last week and am just getting back on my feet. Literately.

I am a bit bored and stuck at home so why not take some pics.

I had a chance this weekend to clean some guns while watching some football. Picked some prewar 22s as its easier for me to clean the same caliber guns at the same time.

Here are four K frames all sporting a different hammer. Quick picks as standing still very much hurts.

Those are really, really nice; especially the stocks. Four sets of Ropers or is that top right one Sanderson? Regardless, all are very special. Hope your back improves quickly.

Nice! Got, my back problems as well. Because of it I took a couple of nasty falls.

I don't have a .22 revolver, but do have 3 auto pistols. I NEVER clean the bore. I think the wax on bullets is a strong barrier to rust. Maybe I'm wrong.

I put a swab down the bbl and cylinders once a year, pull the grips and wipe down with a light layer of ren wax. While doing this I inspect the finish to see if I am storing them correctly.

I pick football season for it as I find normally I do not have the patience .

Wow ! Very nice, Rich.
Sorry to hear about your back. I feel your pain, literally.

Rich:

Love the four beauties. Glad you had them out for a little annual cleaning. I too love the Ropers and appreciate the one-of-a-kind differences and craftsmanship shown in each of them.

Thanks for sharing,

Thanks, I am trying as best I can to keep a lean collection so I try not to duplicate exact copies of guns or grips.

Fortunately Roper provides a lot of variation, some be it subtle.

Funny out of the four guns, I shoot the roughest one the most. The one on the top right. It always goes to camp or the range bag.
Luckily I ran into a set of ropers that shared the same wear to them.

All four grips have a very specific reason they are on each gun.
