Picked up this post war M&P #S844886 today. All numbers matching including stocks. I added the Tyler and had the Idaho Leather holster. We’ll be heading to the range soon!

Letter received, interesting wholesaler. At the time Mining and Smelter Supply Company was the largest supplier of mining equipment in the world. They had branches in Denver, Salt Lake City, El Paso and Mexico City.

Very nice with the long action and sharp shouldered magnas! I bet it shoots as good as it looks. The holster is a beauty, too!

Very nice, Tim. I went to add it to the database and it was already there! Shipped in October, 1946.

These early postwar guns all shoot nicely. That six incher should be fun. Enjoy.

179 guns earlier, here is S 844707.

As Jack said about yours, this also shipped in October 1946, to Klein‘s Sporting Goods in Chicago, which means it could have gone anywhere since Klein‘s main thing was nation-wide mail order. I bought it out of the L.A.area. The Mershon adapter came with it and is likely contemporaneous.

In a word, SWEET! You have a nice vintage package there that will provide both pride of ownership and hours of shooting fun. Congratulations.
