Default Triple lock at gunshow

I picked up a triple lock at the gunshow today. Serial is 14xx IIRC. Lots of brown and some blue remaining, even some case colors. I'm pumped.

Congrats! Gun looks good and the stocks don't look overly worn. Do they number to the gun?

Congratulation , what a find . I haven't found a triple lock yet but your revolver looks like the kind I like . honest wear from being around a while , no rust or pits . I have a couple that look similar and I think they are my favorites . GREAT looking revolver . Thanks for sharing . kenny , texas

Grips match, screws look like they haven't been turned. She's soaking in ATF/acetone bath as we speak. Yes 5".

Early. 5". Original. Boy, Chalie, that one is a winner. If it ever decides to run away from home, I'll be very happy to foster. See ya in April.

That's a nice Triple Lock in that it has a low serial number, a 5" barrel, and the pre mid 1910 non medallion stocks.

Default Nice snag

Charlie,

Did you pick this off of a table that was set up or snag from the pocket of someone walking the show?

I'm assuming the Columbia, SC show?

I think after you finish your deep clean and get some modern lube on the guns innards you are going to be a happy camper. Good score.

I should have asked already, but, I assume a letter is on order? If so, can you post to this thread once received?

I have a lot to learn still on the triple locks.

Is the 5 inch hardest to find in a standard length?

Did the seller put much of a premium on that bbl length?

Curious if I ever run across a TL

6 1/2" is the "standard" barrel length in a Triple Lock revolver so a 5" barrel length cannot be standard.

A 4" barrel length is considerably more difficult to find than a 5" barrel length and a 7 1/2" barrel is likely less common than a 5" barrel length.

Although the literature mentions a 6" barrel length in the Triple Lock, none are known to have been manufactured in this barrel length.
