Default Pre 34 Date

Picked this up at a LGS today. Little bit of a turn line on cylinder.
Otherwise really nice condition. I think it's a pre 34 22LR.
4" barrel, 4 digit s/n 223* Any idea on date and value.
Thanks

That is a sweetie! If that number is on the butt (not on the yoke), it is a very early .22/32 Kit Gun Model of 1953. The same number should be on the rear face of the cylinder and on the barrel flat (and two other less obvious locations, plus the inside of the right stock panel).

Would you please confirm the location of the "four digit number" 223*?

Yes, the S/N is on the butt. Same number on the right stock, rear face of cylinder. Not sure about barrel flat.
Thanks for the info.

Excellent! I was hoping you'd say that.

Hondo44 is our resident expert on these revolvers, but from what I know, this would be from the first year of production - 1953. It is a dandy and a great find. Congrats.

$750- $800 would not be out of line, from what I can tell in your pics.
