Default Model of 1950 .44 Target 4"

Just a few pics to show it off. Used but not abused. Old school walnut Herretts. Thanks Haris1. Simply Rugged, oxblood, thanks Rob. Also a Buck 110. I know Elmer would like it at the BBQ.
(I actually met him 2 years before his death)
I must get a letter on this. Don't you think?

Great looking outfit, everything included! I think a letter would be a great addition. I just can't say if it's worth the cost or not. Knowing it's history would be something I'd want if I were fortunate enough to own it.

Very, very nice.

Getting a letter is a necessity, not an option for two reasons:

1. You might find some interesting information on a rare gun.
2. No matter how perfect, some people (jealous?) will always question the originality.

Enjoy,
Bob

I love it! Sadly, I had to settle for a 4" 24-3 that presented itself to me.

Something about the angle of the front sight doesn't look right to me.

Very nice piece, I also settled on a 24-3 but in a 3". I hope you like shooting it as much as I do the -3. Its with me just about every day I'm out and about.

I think the 4" barrel needed a ramp that rose more sharply to maintain sight picture. I have noted other 4" taper barrel N frames with that ramp.

Makes good sense to me. I have a 2nd Model H.E. that was converted to a target model by the factory. It has a front sight that would put a big Orca to shame.

It's worth a letter. I would get a letter, then change the grips to whatever the letter says. After that I would have to take it to the range.
