C1524xx shipped in February, 1951. They did not leave the factory in serial order, so there is still a chance for you. If you really must know, get a letter from Mr. Jinks.

On my list is C1494xx which shipped in 4/51 but I don't know the barrel length. M&Ps of that time have the so-called "fish hook" hammer, as yours does.
