found on a FB site, owner recently inherited this early
ser. # for the database.

V8986 would put shipment around mid-1942. I take it that it is not yours? Any other information available about it you'd like to share (caliber, barrel length, markings)? That information is more helpful than just the SN as everyone knows that exists. Appears to have heavy finish wear and missing swivel.

Default Mid '42 Victory

correct it's not mine, The OP recently inherited it and posted on a FB site with some limited photos. I will retrieve them and add them here. It's a 4" Bbl. that had been nickeled and minus lanyard loop or correct stocks. More to come. Brad

he did not state caliber or markings as he is unfamiliar with the arm without asking for specifics here's all I have at present

Thanks for the post, Brad. I will get this one added to the Victory Model Database.

It appears to be a 4 inch .38 Special with replaced stocks and a refinish to nickel. The other mark on the butt appears to be an Ordnance flaming bomb.

The serial number appears to me to be V5986. Can you confirm that, please?
