Welcome to the Forum. It would be a 5 screw revolver. You forgot to count the screw in front of the trigger guard. That serial number makes your revolver a 38 Military & Police, 4th Change and would have had to ship on or before 1927. The mushroom shaped extractor rod knob was changed out in 1927. Looking at the database, it should have left the factory 1926 or 1927. Some in your serial number range left later, but would not have had the type of extractor rod knob that your revolver has.

Unbelievable!!! This revolver has been in the family for many years. It was my Grandfather’s. My uncle carried it as a Sheriff’s deputy in Oregon. I inherited it about 5 years ago. I remember my uncle was asked why he didn’t buy a newer firearm and he replied, I trust this one, it’s fired every time I’ve pulled the trigger. So, thank you very much for your reply. This pistol is still in good shape and very functional
