Early model centennial help
I just bought what I believe to be an early model centennial. The serial # is 29XX. It has a flat ejector but no model number stamped inside frame. The grips are smooth high horns . Barrel, cylinder, butt all match. 3 screw with 38 Sw spl on barrel. Lemon squeezer with pin inside hand grips. Any idea when it was made.
Found the 4th screw.
Sorry about the photos, the gun is in very nice condition. All of the blueing remains, grips are very nice, stunning little gun, action, lockup, cylinder perfect. Picked it up at Cabellas in their antique department a few weeks ago. Always wanted one.

Welcome aboard from old Wyo.
Your Centennial is likely from 1953 so your post should be in the previous forum (1899 - 1961).

Welcome, also! A very early .38 Centennial (1953-'55) would have a 4-screw frame; the one under the right stock panel counts toward the total. We like photos!

We’ve had a number of these in the low 3000s documented here with December 1953 ship dates (I have one too), so yours likely falls not too far before that.

Since you "found" the fourth screw, you've obviously taken the grips off.
Take them off again and look for a tiny pin secured in a hole in the grip frame near the top. That pin, if It's there, is used to lock the safety down so you don't have to press it in to fire the gun.
Having the pin is a big deal for the collector value of the gun. They're often missing, though.
