Yes. Nice little round butt Kit Gun.

It is not an "early" Kit Gun. The model goes all the way back to the 1930s. But it is an early .22/32 Kit Gun Model of 1953. Those started with a new serial sequence at 101 in that year. I strongly suspect yours is a first year example of that model variation. Jim (Hondo44) could tell you for sure, since he tracks this stuff.

My first 22 pistol was A S&W 22-32 target dated between the WW's. Shot many squirrels, Bob Cats, snakes & a lot of small game for hunting camp dinners.

Congrats, you found a little jewel! Just little enough wear to not be afraid to shoot/carry it, and without having to pay a premium for a collectable example.

A four screw New Model I frame. None that I have record for shipped in 1953; it was an end of year introduction. Serial #s near yours shipped in mid 1954.

Second style flat latch and two pin, rectangular tip firing pin with two proud retaining pins, used until ~ #21XXX.

Enjoy!
