Very nice! I just love the proud pins for the front sight. That should be a joy to shoot.

Great find SDH, the complete package. I'm drawn to the proud front sight pins as well. Here's my shooter grade 6" Pre 27 similarly equipped.

They forgot to say on the lid of the box:

Thanks Guys! These are, arguably the finest revolvers S&W ever made (IMO). I can't imagine why anyone would want a Python? ;>)

Nice one SDH:
Here is one of my pre-27's. a 57 vintage shooter with an empty box, and numbered magna stocks. I have a set of Ken's Elk grips on for show and tell.

Apparently by '57 the proud pins had been replaced by the flush polished pins.

Nice find and package!

My favorite S&W's.
The five standard cataloged blues. I'm working on the five nickels now and need three more.

Without knocking anyone else's tastes and knowing I'm in the minority, I've never had any desire for a 3~1/2" .357. Just the thought of the muzzle blast is too much. I do have a 3", round butt Model 13 though I shoot +P.

Although it is more practical, I've never wanted an 8~3/8" incher either. My Brother had one for a while. We called it "The Hammer" because it had such a long handle.
So a 5", 6" and 6~1/2" satisfies my desires.

Default Shooter Pre 27

Here's my "Shooter" 5" Pre 27. Leo may recognize this revolver and the grips.

The pre-war style, sharp-shoulder magnas, with large medallion are from my shop.
