Default Another 6.5" Transition Heavy Duty Joins the Party!

And just when you thought it could not get any better, a guest decided to drop in-another one of the 95ea manufactured! S62569 was shipped September 24, 1946 to Carlisle Hardware Co., Springfield, MA.

It now wears a pair of Schofield Kid grips:

And it has the original serial numbered box to go with it!

I have an M&P that was shipped to Carlisle Hardware in May of that year. It was downtown and only a few blocks from the factory (at the time). It moved a few years later.

Nobody needs one. First one, then another, then another. Don't start, there aren't enough to go around for those of us already bitten!

I think I know a gunsmith who can cut that barrel down to a manageable size for ya. But, then it wouldn't fit the box correctly Oh well, you can't let a good box go to waste. Good find.

The price from S&W to the dealer was $31.20 and you can see on the bottom of the box they sold it for $64. That $33 and change profit is $434 in todays dollar. It was a lot of money for that day and i'm sure it paid some salaries!
