Early Grip Adapters
I have read that in the early 30's, the N-frame guns came with service stocks and possibly the grip adapters. In late 1935, the magnas came out which seemed to be a better choice for many.
Can someone tell me when these n-frame adapters first came out, and which guns were they available on? Also, when did S&W stop offering these?

I believe those first were available on the RM.

Kevin is correct. This type grip adapters were first available for the N frames used for the Registered Magnums and the Heavy Duties, circa 1935 era. Shortly thereafter, they were available for the K & J frames. ( S&W Trivia: When Roy Jinks found the original log book for the first 200 Registered Magnums, we noticed that many of them said "GA" in their descriptions. What was a "GA?" Then as original unaltered guns were matched up with their production record we soon figured out that the GA stood for "Grip Adapter." ) Ed.

I did not know about the 38/44s nor the K frames. Thank you for sharing.
