Default Who Best to Refinish a Poorly Refinished Gun?

I have a poorly reblued pre war Smith. Blued-over pits, uneven polishing, etc. The gun deserves better. Any recommendations on who is currently doing quality refinish work?
I am aware of Turnbull, but was hoping not to spend so much time and money. I have used Ford’s in Florida years ago, but am unsure of the quality of their current work.
Thanks

Forgive me but...why bother?

Yes, it deserved better, and it is too late now...it got what it got, and there is no way to un-do that.

Put it on Gunbroker with an honest description and GOOD indirect light outdoor Photos, good bore image, good describe of Timing and Lock up, put it for a Penny start, and what-ever it brings, put toward something worth having.

Maybe he likes the gun and just wants it to look nicer. Reason enough if the cost doesn't scare him away.

Excellent recommendations with the caveat on Fords here:
Who’s been turning out good rebluing?

Turnbull does revolvers but no longer S&W revolvers.

it's important to know that restoring severe pitting/abuse can be done. It necessitates micro welding. There is re-finishing and there's restoration, they are not the same thing. Pitting under the bluing is refinishing, not restoration. The great shops can do either. Therefore whoever you choose, confirm that they have that ability. Some do all work in house or contract out micro welding to specialists such as:

PULLMAN ARMS Micro Welding
Dan Harvey- Lead Gunsmith
33 Pullman St., Worcester, MA 01606
[email protected]
(508) 926-8730
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am- 5:00pm
>> Gunsmithing Services

WICKED WELDING Micro-welding
5703 Webster St suite j, Dayton, OH 45414
Phone: (937) 454-9023

Another recommendation:

Classic Guns L.T.D. (John)
Ask about their early 20th century S&W like Carbonia Blue Finish:
1702 Dixie Hwy.
Crete, IL 60417 United States
Phone:
708-367-1620
Email = [email protected]
See post #12 for example here: Looking for Suggestions for a Refinishing Shop

For micro welding he uses Glenn Fewless in Waterford, WI, (262) 534-5154. He's a metalsmith and member of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild: ACGG | Glenn Fewless: ACGG | Glenn Fewless
He micro welds guns with bad pitting.
