Can't pass a New Century 44
I just came up with another early Triplelock. It is a 6 1/2" 44 special. Not much finish, mostly in protected areas. It has a great bore, action is smooth as silk and it is properly timed. Low serial number in the 2500 range. I am going to shoot it and will report on how it does. I might sell one I have that was re-nickled. This will be a good 44 to wear around the farm.

Very nice addition to the farm detail.
I think that every serious revolver collector should own a Triple Lock and shoot it at least once.

Letting it go
I am thinking that I will not keep this one. I have decided that the safe can only be so full, and for something to go it, something must come out. The other gun I have is refinished, but has a 5" barrel. I have a guy doing an engraving job on a different gun. He is fairly priced. If it comes out nice enough, I might ask him to put some scroll on the 5" gun then have it blued. Not much to loose as it is already nickle.

Wish this one could tell us what it had experienced in the last 100 years. From the looks of it, the story would be a good one.This one was carried and, probably, saw some action.

Saw and handled that one at the sale last week, Shotgunner. It's certainly a nice shooter grade and you did well on the price. I didn't think the stocks were original to it though. Should they be the convex, non medallion type, or perhaps the gold medallion?

They can sleep in the corner of the safe,,don't need much room. Don't eat anything until you take 'em to the range. Then they get load too. But otherwise quiet around the house.
What more can you ask for!

That's a nice original TL with honest wear. No monkey business perpetrated on that one.
As posted above, the stocks are from the 1920s. If shipped before mid 1910 (most likely), the stocks would be concave at the top, not convex.
If shipped after mid 1910 (much less likely but possible) the stocks would be concave and have the recessed gold plated over brass medallions.

The grips are not numbered to the gun, there are no numbers at all, just 3 initials. Once again if this one could talk.......
