Default Question on RM Stocks

I read that service stocks (with adapters) were pretty much standard on the early Registered Magnums. Then the Magnas became available in late 1935. My question is how long were the service stocks still available on the RM's? At what date, or serial number, were they no longer offered?

Default Question on RM Stocks

According to the 1940 S&W Catalogue the “.357” Magnum could still be obtained with the “Choice of S&W Magna or square stocks“. Also the Wesson Grip Adapter, designed to be used only with service stocks, was still offered as an accessory.

So I believe the answer to your question is that service stocks, with or without the Wesson Grip Adapter attached, were available throughout Pre-War .357 Magnum production.

Both pictures below are from the 1940 S&W Catalogue.

I had a RM shipped in June 1937 with standard stocks with the grip adapter attached. I think the pages from the 1940 catalog provided in post #2 provide the answer to the question you asked.
