My One and Only 1950 .45 Target
Yes, it is the only one I own.
This extraordinary specimen is the 'Pre Model 26'.
The engraving on this .45 Target was completed by Smith and Wesson's Master Engraver Tommy Freyburger.
His initials are engraved under the cylinder release thumb latch.
It is 'Class A' engraved.
There is an exceptional amount of coverage.
Even though I took the pictures and 'posed' the gun I am in awe over the results of this man's skill and talent. I bow to his expertise.
If you will notice Tommy engraved the sides to accommodate the magnas or full targets. The way he did that is pretty clever and visually appealing.
enjoy,
bdGreen
Thanx Bob.

A rather rare revolver artistically highlighted into a thing of beauty for our eyes.
I have one of these treasured revolvers but in a rather bland bright blue finish.
There were 2,768 of these revolvers produced and I bet not many of them artistically transposed.
Thank you for sharing the image of this beauty with us.

There aren't enough adjectives in our language to describe this or that .44 magnum. Way too cool!

Yup Bruce... you've got it and you've got it good. Love that Freyburger engraving.
Thanks for sharing your great photos.

That is beautiful and interesting that it has the red ramp front sight/white outline rear option. My Model 1950 .45 Target from 1956 has the standard Patridge front sight.
When was the gun manufactured and when was the engraving done ? It sure is a stunner.
