In April of 1908, there was a particular shipment of (at least) two .38 1905 revolvers. One was serial number 106688, and it is now in good hands. The other is serial number 106717, and its whereabouts are unknown. The shipment date of these two guns is about 6 months later than other contemporary serial numbers.
106688 has a 8" barrel, about which there are some questions regarding the origin of the barrel. There are a number of observations of this barrel that have a bearing on whether the factory made the barrel. The reason for trying to locate 106717 is to discover its configuration. This is a long shot, but knowings its configuration might help in an understanding of the 8" barrel.
If anyone has, or knows of, this revolvers, please post, or send me an email, describing its configuration, particularly the length of the barrel.
Thanks for helping, Mike Priwer
