Hand Ejector 38 special I.D.
My son just brought in a 4 inch Hand Ejector,5 screw, barrel shaped ejector with '30-'41 grips and with the serial number of 643072. Does this sound like a '35 or '36 revolver? One odd thing is the finish is a very nice parkerized one.I will try to get him to send my a photo later.

Mid to late 30s off the top of my head but my head isn't an expert.

Yep, mid- to late 1930s. The parkerized finish is definitely a refinish.

643072 could put it as shipping anywhere in the 1932-36 period, although it is highly likely to have been manufactured in 1931 or 1932. During the Great Depression, guns could sit in factory inventory for years after manufacture before they were sold. The grips on yours are period-correct and in very good condition, and are fairly desirable all by themselves. Take care of them. For sure, the M&P did not come from the factory with a Parkerized finish.
