2" M&P 1952-1954 found yesterday
Walked into one of my LGS's yesterday and observed 3-4 very nice S&W's in the case. Spied a 2" M&P, Fourth Addition says 1952-1954. Excellent condition. Probably sock drawer gun. They had it marked as a model 36 and thought that was what it was. Consignment gun with price tag of $450.00. I am going back to get it tomorrow with cash. I have done a lot of business there and expect to get it for less, thinking $425.00.Never owned a model 10 or M&P of any kind. They set it back for me and ran the check while I was there.

Assuming it is what it appears to be and not a cut-down I would definitely go for that at that price. Good luck.

That is a reasonable price for a M&P snubby in high condition. At that time period, it should have a C prefix to the SN which eliminates the possibility that it is a BSR with a chopped barrel and rechambered to .38 Special.

Sounds like a nice find! Based on prices around here, you're doing well.

I ended up getting it for $425 plus tax and background so I was out the door for $471. It is in beautiful condition. I needed it like a whole in the head but what the heck!

Good score. I need the one I got as much as you needed yours. LOL.
