Default Vintage M&P with tulipwood magnas

Shipped Feb. 1930 . Military & Police .38 spl. 5" bbl. with tulipwood magnas.

A good friend gave these grips back to me. I made them many years ago when I was just figuring out the "how to". I had recently given him a really nice pair of stags and these became "obsolete". I put them on the vintage M&P just for fun, and now I don't want to take them off !

Are you sure it is from 1931? The mushroom-shaped extractor rod knob suggests it may be earlier than that.

I agree with DWalt. My guesstimate would be that it's from between 1922 and 1928. That sure is a nice set of stocks.

Beautiful stocks. Tulipwood is one of my favorites.

If you want to keep the nice color on Tulipwood, don't expose the gun to extended hours of sunlight. The UV exposure will destroy the great color of the stocks. I know this from personal experience.

OOPS ! .. It is 1930. I bought this one and another 1930 mfg 6" from a forum SWCA member and he had lettered them. Below is my thread on them.

The great Military & Police TWO-FER !!

I think it is older than 1930. Check your letter.

Here is the letter on this one. It's pretty faint. I think Thom was getting low on printer ink I guess this sat around for awhile in the late 20's after manufacturing before shipping.

I suspect Roy made a mistake when he gave that ship date. He never gives the day- just the month and year.

That guess is probably correct assuming the letter information is also correct.

It's not a letter. It's a screen grab of Roy's post in the members' ship dates forum.
