New to me 27
I was going to title this "what did I bring home", but after a bunch of googling, I have some idea. This is one that was my grandfather's. My dad and I recently took it out to shoot, AFAIK, for the first time since he took it from his father ~12 years ago. I'd seen it, handled it, I think even cleaned it once back when it was in my grandfather's possession, but never really paid much attention to it.
It's a 27 no-dash, 3.5" barrel, 4-screw gun.
For who knows how long, it's been stored in a leather moccasin in the bottom half of what I assume was the original box, still containing the original brush, mop, and sight adjustment driver. My first shot with it when we took it to the range was a perfect bullseye, so I guess I won't be needing the sight adjustment driver
Based on the S210xxx serial, I gather it's from about 1960. I assume the nickel is factory.
Not that I can ever see selling this, I assume having just the bottom half of the box doesn't do much for value (i.e. vs having the full box). I didn't even think to ask for the box and other accessories. I do have the original grips (and they're serial # matching), but never liked S&W factory grips. The Hogue on it is one that I bought years ago (like back when hogueauction.com was still a thing) assuming that one day this gun would be mine and I'd replace the factory grips. With dad's permission, I swapped the grips right before we left for the range.

njl,
Your grandfather had really good taste! Great revolver. If you can, at least try to get the original tools. They are worth a lot of money. I don't think you would, but definitely keep the original grips. Are they in good shape? Remembering your grandfather every time you shoot it is a fantastic thing to be able to do.

My oh my!! That one is really nice!! If possible, get the stuff it came in. The bottom of the box might have the serial number on the bottom. I don't know if they were still doing that when that one shipped.
I like all things 27!!

Here are the original stocks from it.
It looks like whoever made these had a minor accident on the bottom of the left side one.
What is this grip style called?

Those are referred to as Magna grips. Specifically Diamond Magnas based upon the small un-checkered diamond present around the screw holes. S&W stopped putting the diamond there around 1967/'68 IIRC.
