Default New to me .357 Magnum

This was brought to my attention by a member on another forum. I procrastinated for a month and then called the seller. We worked out a partial trade involving a CZ .22 rifle that I had so I drove 100 miles and did the deal. S125XXX most likely shipped in 1955 so this would be the first birth year gun that I've purchased. This slides right in between my other two Pre Model 27s.

The grips were a big factor in the deal.

Checked the inside of the grips for numbers but no luck. I have a spare pair of non-relieved targets that I think I'll put on it. Coincidently my other 2 Pre 27s came to me with trigger shoes so I might have to install one to keep things consistent.

Thumbs up

Nice pre 27! You should call S&W customer service to find out the actual ship date. I have a 5" pre 27 with a serial number starting with S129XXX and they gave me a 1954 ship date, which is my birth year!

In any case, congrats on your purchase of a very nice pre 27!

Talking One Fine 27 Target

Well Shucks
After my below thread on 27 barrel lengths
I'm really getting eager/antsy to join you on a
Proper 27 6.5 Target model like you followed
up on. I believe it to be a much better treasure
to own than the CZ, although CZs are nice
rifles.
Thanks very much for sharing your pics of it.
I will be admiring it all day today.
Please pass on:some of your luck to me
to hopefully join you within the next month!
My Best Randy..

I have a 6" pre 27 S1259XX. Ship date letters to 11/09/54. The day after my birthday.

The pre 27s seem to be breeding.
