Default New K38 Owner with Question

What is the significance of a large (in proportion) "S" stamped on the frame near the yoke?
This Pre-15 dates to 1955.
Thanks.

No worries.

That's an inspector's I.D. code stamp and it's usually in that location; in the yoke cut out of the frame right above the assembly #.

It can be any letter and different sizes.
