Is this a Model 34 or Kit gun? Value
I have a chance to buy the attached 22 revolver. It is not marked 34 in the yoke. How do I tell the model? And approximate value?

RGNewell has it right. More specifically, it is a .22/32 Kit Gun Model of 1953. The model marked version (Model 34) didn't start shipping until about mid-year, 1958. Yours is earlier, but since you didn't provide the serial number, we cannot say even roughly how much earlier. It could have shipped any time between 1953 and 1958. There even may have been some Model of 1953 units that didn't ship until 1959.
I think he also has the price about right. The Kit Guns have shot up in value over the past couple years.
The Kit Gun was made with either a 2" (like this one) or a 4" barrel.

It's a NEW I frame model and if it has 4 screws in the side plate including the one hidden by the grip, it's most likely a pre 1956 built and shipped gun. Often referred to as a Pre Model 34 by collectors, because its design is the same as the Model 34 stamped guns.
Although these guns were changed to being built on the J frame in Oct 1961 as the Model 34-1, the Model 34s on the I frame were still being shipped from inventory a year or two after 1961.
