Default 4 screw pre 28

Hey i have a 4 screw highway patrolman the numbers match , but it has a P stamped on the inside of the butt and the inside of the frame next to the yoke , any ideas what that p means ?

Just a fitter's mark or an inspector's mark. Not important.

An early HP is a fine gun to own.

I wished I knew, but I think it means "sell it to a guy in Pittsburgh, PA!" I can't afford another gun right now according to Mrs. T., but just for yuks, everyone who read your post would like more pictures of it! 28s are bringing crazy money these days......at least that's what I hear around here!!!!

Not the "working man's" 27 anymore....... not so long ago a $300 gun in W. Pa......... I would hazard a guess not anymore..... If you could find one for sale!!!
