My 1973 27-2 has RR/WO sights. I don't think it's worth $90 to find out if original. I paid to know on my 1957 357 and the sights lettered.

I bet they are original. Does it have target stocks, trigger and hammer? Presentation case?

Over the years presentation cases and boxes got separated from guns, etc but I recall seeing those N frames in the early 70’s at a LGS and most had RR and WO as well as TS, TT, TH. Collectors appreciate the boxes and accessories but a lot of regular guys that had a box fall apart or the flocking and vac-u-form plastic in the presentations cases get yucky, they tossed it. As far as dropping a hundred bucks and getting a letter to find out where the gun was shipped when new as well as the included embellishments, you have what you have and it really adds or takes away from the value unless your gun is NIB in my opinion.

My answer would be a resounding no! If you like the sights - keep 'em. If you don't - change 'em. Wether original or not at this point really doesn't matter much and I can't see spending $90 bucks just to find out.

IMHO - use the money for something else that will make a difference.
