Default Did you see it? Awesome! Not the Christmas star, the RM!

No registration certificate, but a very nice RM, box and goodies sold in just a couple of hours last weekend on GB. Someone hit the “buy now” button and it was gone in just a couple of hours. I had the high bid for a few minutes. Lost the gun by only $9000. So close!

Anyway, the beautiful gun is preserved in my “lost auctions” file and I thought I would share it with those members who track RMs and folks who like to look at religious artifacts.

Isn’t it purty? Such history, such craftsmanship.

Enjoy, Dave

Keystone Arms has some NICE S&W revolvers on occasion, but you need deep pockets to win.

They really have nice Colt collections. That's their real wheelhouse. They do well with S&Ws too. They are just down the road about 90 minutes from me and practically next door to Bam Bam.
But as with some other vendors many of us know, they sell high condition firearms... so you gots to pay if you wants to play.

Buyer is a serious Colt collector/dealer who would be willing to sell it. I’d just be surprised there are many buyers willing to pay more than that.

Totally agree with that assessment. No question the RM has a LOT going for it - original finish (would like to see pictures of the left side grip strap to confirm no rework dates) and configuration, short barrel, and matching grips. The wear indicates possible police usage but the documentation does not confirm that. Also, based on the blurry pictures of the lettering on the top of the box, it appears to be a medium sized box; a small sized box would probably have been used by the factory for the 3.5” barrel length.

I missed the listing altogether and did not see it until this thread, but even though I would love to own that RM, I would not want to have $14K in it if I had to sell it.

Here’s the link to the completed auction for those who want to check it out......

One of the auction houses recently had a decent RM that sold for under $4k.

Lot Detail - (C) SMITH & WESSON REGISTERED MAGNUM REVOLVER.

No comparison as to condition, but still, an RM for K32 money.

Pretty big difference between a reblued gun with an 8 3/8 inch barrel to an original condition 3 1/2 inch gun with box, though.
