Last standard shipment of Triple Lock revolvers shipped 103 years ago today
From my research, I believe this to be the case. 159 shipped to Shapleigh Hardware in St Louis, Missouri. (Edit: This was the last standard shipment of Triple Lock revolvers. There was a special order in the 1930's in which a Triple Lock was assembled and shipped. Indeed, I own a Triple Lock revolver that shipped in 1915 and had significant parts replaced in 1929, including the barrel and cylinder, so it stands to reason that parts left over for repairs might have been assembled into an entire revolver on one or more occasions, and so I reference standard production.)
If anyone can prove this to be wrong, and has one that shipped at a later date, please post to this thread.
Interestingly, Smith & Wesson shipped, and therefore worked, on New Year's Day. This was back in 1918. I don't know if working on New Year's Day was a regular occurance back then or if this was due to the WWI wartime effort.
Pictured is the letter for a Triple Lock Target Model revolver that shipped on this day 103 years ago as well as a few photographs of this revolver.

Coincidentally, my Triple Lock shipped to Simmons Hardware in St. Louis October 31, 1916.

I think S&W worked on Christmas Day also during WWI. Seems like I read that in Roy's book. I'll bet that was true for everyone working in the defense industries back then.
Maybe it was pretty much done by everybody all the time, war or no war.

This one is 14304. I don't have a letter for it. Refinished with 9 51 stamped on the frame with a star on the butt.

Being that high of a number, 14304, and being a Target Model--note Roy states many in the shipment of 01 January 1918 were Target Models--I think there's a high probability yours was in the same shipment as mine.
I would letter yours regardless of whether or not yours was in the same shipment as mine. In other words, I would letter it irrespective of any speculation.

THE LAST TL MADE:
the last .44 Triple Lock was built and sold in the mid 1930 as a special order and the purchaser paid a price well over $100 to have it made. Roy
Parts held over for repairs, ca 1918

Okay, other than this special order, I think the last standard shipment of Triple Lock revolvers occurred New Year's Day 1918.
Edit: I see I started the thread you reference only about six months ago and completely forgot about it!

Thank you Sir for presenting my revolver properly.
So, how do you do this? I have no idea how to post photographs other than in the inferior presentation within my original post.
I should add that there are still bargains to be had out there and I acquired this one only a couple of years ago at a bargain basement price. The auction house identified this as a Smith & Wesson Model of 1908, which indeed it is, except most of these are described when offered for sale as a .44 Hand Ejector First Model or a Triple Lock revolver.
So if any of you have an oddball Model of 1908 kicking about which you believe has little value and you have no use for, please let me know!
Edit: I will attach photographs as to how it came to me and not as it is now, with the proper pre war N frame stocks with medallions.

You're right, I agree yours is the last standard shipment of Triple Lock revolvers occurred New Year's Day 1918. There's always some oddball to trip us up which is actually just an anomaly.

Now if you could only find 14284 for the trifecta!
