Question I-frame trigger/J-frame trigger?

I apologize for the long-windedness of this posting, but I need help from the Masters here.

I have a 2" .38 S&W Smith and Wesson Model 32 Terrier. Serial # 8288*. Roy Jinks informed me it was shipped from the factory April 16, 1959. 100% finish. It has a grooved trigger, I want to replace the grooved trigger with a smooth trigger. I don't want to have the original trigger ground. I want to keep it in the event I sell the Terrier with the original trigger. I believe it to be an I-frame. If I understand correctly, S&W was moving away from the I-frames to the J-frame (?). Online I see advertised: Smith and Wesson J Frame Model 32 Grooved Trigger

BOTTOM LINE.............I want to buy a trigger and have the grooved trigger ground smooth. The advertised triggers seem to be incorrectly labeled J-frame Model 32. In the Forum's opinion, am I "safe" buying a trigger (J-frame Model 32 trigger)?

Are you doing the work yourself? If so, open your gun up and compare available triggers to yours.
In 1959, the I frame and the J frame used the same trigger.

Smile Reply to Handejector.

I have not purchased the trigger because I don't know what to buy.

I will not be doing the work myself. I will use a local gunsmith to do the job.

Thank you.

Not only are you in my will.....but you can be buried beside me.

I frame triggers are interchangeable with J frames as Lee indicated above, and there's options to boot:

• Late 1950 - Serrated triggers, already used on I frame targets since 1935, began a transition replacing smooth triggers on all fixed sight I frames until completed ~mid-1951 on I and J frames.

• 1953 I and J .400” grooved target trigger available factory installed likely as early asin 1953, at least by 1956 when 1st observed factory installed in #24363 Pre 35. Followed by .335” grooved and smooth; and in 1986 the .312” smooth combat became standard and all others discontinued.

Mod 34-1 & 30 -1 J frames with wide smooth triggers:
