K-38 Shipped on birth year and month
I was very fortunate to be able to recently purchase an excellent condition K-38 from forum member Narragansett. The revolver was delivered from the factory in September 1950 ..... the same month and year that I was delivered from the "factory"! So, needless to day, I am excited about it. In thinking back over the past 70 years, it is amazing what changes have taken place throughout society ..... some for the better; some not so. One of the attached photos includes some interesting ads from 1950.
On another note, I am a fairly new member to the forum and have been very impressed by the helpfulness and knowledge of the forum members.

Thanks for the picture of the 1950 advertisements. Rather cool.
I'm also of 1950 vintage, but nine month before you (missed 1949 by a mere 26 hours!). My first car, which I acquired when I was 14, was a 1951 Chevy Deluxe sedan. I loved that car. Sold it shortly before I left for 'Nam. I wish I still had it!

I have a K-38 that shipped on my birth month, and
even to my home town! Buy, alas, it shipped 4 years after I was born.

Your BD is the same as my wife but she is '51. My first car was a primer coated '58 Ford that I traded two Cushman Eagle motor scooters for when I was 15. Wish I still had the Eagles.

I have a K22 shipped on my exact 5th birthday in 1947. Good news is, that it is a one liner and has the LERK. Also the box and tools. Big Larry

You Lucky Dog! Searched for a September 1950 myself, since I popped out on the 20th.
Eventually settled for a Pre10 Snub in beautiful condition, but it’s 6 months older than me.
Congratulations, Beautiful Birth Revolver!

Great gun and I love all of the 1950s ads. Especially the "Just what the doctor ordered" - that for sure is something that has changed in the last 70 years...
Thanks for sharing,

Really nice K38 ya got there. I have to say that the only thing wrong with this thread is it's for youngsters.

Ah yezzz... 1950. It was the year I fell in love at age 11 with a cute little girl my same age who lived in our neighborhood. My mom and I drove her home from a square dance we both attended. I don't remember this specifically, but my mother said that I told her that I would marry that girl some day. This picture was taken that year.
Eleven years later, here's how that turned out:
1950 was a very good year for me - that little girl and I will be celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary this year.

I'm lucky enough to have found a K22 that was shipped just 3 days after my birth in March, 1950. I too really like the 50's ads that you have collected.
Congratulations;
Mike

As much as I would like to find one shipped on my birth date, it isn't gonna happen. I was born on a Sunday.
