Default 44 Magnum Birthday!

I just wanted to wish the 44 Magnum a happy 65th birthday! It was introduced today in 1956, and is not even considering retirement.

I'd get my pre-29 a cake, but I know what it would do with the frosting, and I'm *not* cleaning up that mess.

Somewhere, Elmer is smiling.

Happy Birthday 44 Magnum. You can get full social security now.

I think I will get out my 629 and fondle it sometime today.

Happy Birthday 44, Yipppeee
My first revolver a 29-3 some 32 years ago, shot it two weeks ago.
Got another 29-3 six months ago. Looking for another.
Love that versatile round!

Here is the cake the S&WCA had in Salt Lake City in 2006 when the 44 Magnum celebrated in 50th anniversary.

The cartridge and I share the same birth year. It is two months my elder. I had a Model 29-2 for a couple of decades longer than I should have before I let and English professor talk me out of it.

Default A couple “Irish Twins”

These two .44’s were a little late to the party but...They’ve enjoyed being in their ‘60’s none-the-less!

I'd be surprised if my brother didn't get a piece of that cake.

My 29-2 celebrated its 57th birthday on January 14.

I shot it for the very first time on the 16th of this month.
I should have taken it out two days earlier.

It probably needed the days to recover from the birthday party.
