New Look and Feel For This K-22
After finding out this 1949 Masterpiece came with the wrong stocks (non-sharp shouldered) I decided to put these Hogue? Hurst? ?? on and shoot it. It is a very accurate revolver and it feels great in my hand. I also discovered some "expletive" packed it with red grease, like I put in the bearings on my boat trailer. After disassembly, cleaning, proper lube and reassembly all is well. I've had these stocks for some time and I really like the overall package.

I'll bet there was no rust in that action.

It's always nice to find a set of grips that you like on a K-22. That package looks like it would be a dream to shoot.
Thanks for sharing,

Yep, sounds like someone was worried about rust, so they used bearing grease. Nice looking K-22.

I had a rare set of walnut target stocks with basket weave checkering from Fitz on my K22 for a while and they were great, but I had to take them off because I couldn’t find matching pairs for the K38 and later the K32. I left the magnas on for consistency’s sake.

Interesting stocks, I don't think they are Hogues. At least not like any of the hogue two piece I've ever owned. Certainly one of that LA bunch though.

The factory stocks, though pretty, are an odd fit whether magnas or targets.
Cokes are a different story ;-)
