Rebound Mystery
Hello All
I have a Model 53 Jet k442609,1961,8 3/8 barrel and am trying to replace the rebound slide spring. The springs on Numrich are to large a diameter and to heavy a guage. Can any one point me in the right direction? dying to plink with this nice piece. Thx JG

Brownells, Midway, Wilson etc have spring kits with 16 lb to 12 lb springs so you can see which one works best in your gun.

Do you have the old spring? Has it been cut too short? If so, drop a common steel BB into the slide and then insert the spring. Often works.

Brownells sells the rebound springs in kits. You might also try their mainspring and return spring kits. Cost is only a few $$$.
Brownells also sells a screwdriver bit designed to seat the rebound spring. Although, pretty easy to do with a plain old screwdriver bit. I use a bit larger than the spring, not smaller.
I just picked up a 1961 made 53, use the reduced power mainspring and a 12# return.
