Default 38 special M&P question

Looking at this one to purchase. Serial # 30**** range,

No frame logo either side, what is the story on that iteration?

Thanks

The serial puts the gun in the time period (mid-1917 to early 1920) when the stamping of the logo was suspended, allegedly as an economizing war measure. It‘s not quite clear why it took so long to re-start it. That gun is likely from mid-1919.

From the left side of the gun, the studs look to be flattened. For sure, the trigger stud, and possibly the hammer stud. The trigger rebound stud is questionable. This raises the question of whether the gun has been refinished. Look at the flat under the barrel. It should have the frame serial number, and possibly a letter. let us know what is stamped there.
