Repro Cokes and Ropers
Whose stocks to you like the best, and why? I'm seeking classic appearance with good ergonomics and recoil management for some N frames in my collection.

If you are talking about originals, you pretty much have to search around and buy what you find (and are at a price you are willing and able to pay.). If ordering new made, and with the parameters you mention for their intended use, you will need to try some shapes and see what fits best in your hand.
Personally, my “perfect” grips would have a modest Coke Bottle Swell and either Roper or Sanderson style checkering. In fact, the Sandersons (without thumbrest) tend to come closest to my preferred shape than either of the ones you mentioned, but this is definitely a job for Goldilocks... you’ve got to find what’s just right for you.

Save your money and buy an original N frame diamond Target set from a member here when they come up or have a Roper set made by Curt Harlow.. You'll spend at least 150 to 200 before its over for the aftermarket type spending your hard earned money on lesser
ones you'll regret later IMHO..VERSES
A Set or 2 you save and aquire for a buck or a buck fity more each😜
Thats what I've done and no regrets now..
Best Randy

Eagle Grip's Heritage Series is a decent alternative at around $200.

Those are excellent! Is that your’s or from Eagle’s website? I didn’t know medallions were an option. I bought a pair years ago without medallions and one side was perfect but the checkering was messed up in the other so I returned them. But I sure like these.

They're mine, came on a 28-2 I bought at a gun show a few years ago. They're $169 without medallions and $210 with them. Still available it appears on the Eagle Grips site.

I don't know what mine are although I'd guess walnut. Web site says without medallion available in rosewood and with medallion in walnut but perhaps there are more options.

I have 2 sets of the Eagles, one walnut and one rosewood. I like the walnut better. Got them off Ebay for about half price. Have not shot them yet, but they feel great

Also check out John Culina’s work ( https://www.culinagrips.com). John does first-rate grips, is a Forum member, and can make to the variety of wood, finish and pattern you want.

I had a set of original Ropers on a Colt and really liked them. Altamont makes grips that look like them but I've never used a set. Unfortunately they're out of stock right now. Smith & Wesson N Frame Square Butt Revolver Grips | Altamont Company
