Default 1903 Hand Ejector Info Needed

Hello, this is my first foray into any revolver but really my first dive into S&W in general. I picked up a 1903 Hand Ejector and wanted to learn some information about it. I tried researching it but there seems to be a serious lack of information available online. I would appreciate any help you all can offer.

1903 Hand Ejector
207XXX
32 Long
4" Barrel
Fixed rear and seems to be an integral front blade (no pin)
Yes there is a strain screw
No butt swivel
Five Screw

P.S
It seems to only work in double action. The hammer will not stay locked back when pulled rearward. I have read that some of these were made as DAO and that some were modified by police departments to work as such as a safety measure. Please let me know if this is incorrect or if I should be concerned.

Welcome! This .32 HE was likely made in about 1914-'15. The most likely reason for the SA malfunction is an internal mechanical problem, which may be repairable or require replacement parts. Fortunately these are still available.

If you are able to remove the sideplate and take/post photos of the hammer/trigger interface that would help with a diagnosis. A gunsmith familiar with older S & W revolvers is also a good option.

Default Sorry for the late reply

Sorry for the extremely long time it has taken me to respond. I was unfortunately out of commission for a period of time. I'll get the picture posted this week.
