Default Adding a Pre-27 .357 back to the collection

On something like a whim, I placed a bid on a GB auction for a worn but probably not abused pre-model number .357 revolver and "won" it. Probably overpaid a bit but for some reason I wanted it.

Seller and I are in the same state and I have a C&R FFL, so I'm hoping to save some money on that part of the deal anyway.

That should be a fun one - it looks like a well broken in shooter (which are some of my favorite N-Frame .357s). I threw a bid in on that one early on. Glad it stayed on the forum.

Congrats!

I was watching that one, too.
Whoever the previous owner was, they obviously enjoyed the heck out it! But, it doesn't appear to be abused; rather, just well used.
Perhaps it's an acquired taste, but I like it!

Good catch!

The Post-War .357 Magnum made it to its new home today! Looks great in person. There is fairly heavy finish wear on the cylinder, front of the 6" barrel and frame edges, but not much else. Looks like it was holstered or stored in one, but not shot very much. Recoil shield and front of the cylinder look fabulous! Great SA trigger, smooth DA.

The diamond Magnas are numbered to a later gun, but fit fairly well. Based on the frame line, it looks like it lived with a pair of Magnas most of its life.

Welcome home!

Great looking revolver. . . Congratulations

It is hard not to love a N-frame 357

Yeah. I've been looking at a bunch of Smiths since I decided to buy this one and have been amazed at the prices being paid. I bought an 8 3/8" nickeled 29-2 for more than I wanted to pay, but other folks have been paying the same or more for 29-3s and almost as much for 629s! I no longer feel like I paid a little too much for this .357. Maybe I'll try to get some pics in the wild tonight. Don't know if I'll get much better than what the seller posted, though.
