K frame, no model number, 5 screw, SN, on bottom of the frame, appears to be

C 2093XX

I see several M&Ps in that range that shipped in 1952 (from May to September). No guarantees, of course.

That S&W is not old!!! . . . this one is old.

I don't consider anything born after I was as old.

I had a C1688xx that dated to Apr 1952, if that will get you any closer. It was a 2" 5 Screw.
