It looks like the engraved S&W bug has bitten you and bitten you bad. Any idea as to who engraved that beautiful Nickel M&P?
Thanks for sharing,

Very nice, but also very odd... I can't remember *ever* seeing a revolver that engraved but with nothing done to the cylinder.
The cylinder S/N matches?
It is lovely though, do we pics of the work on the top and backstrap? :-)

There are things about this gun making it one of one.:
Lanyard loop
Bone grips :0
no engraving on cylinder - yes numbered.
Take a good look at the Griffen blowing fire!!
Thanks for the post.. If time permits will take more pictures..

I feel compelled to say, that revolver is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. AND I need to compliment you on some excellent photos. Photographing nickel guns is always a challenge.
Thank you for posting.

Thanks Roger,
It is a challenge with the light levels. Definitely a learning experience. I should shoot a few micro lens closeups. Take a very good look at the engraving by the cylinder release. There is a giffin blowing fire!!

This is a very nice gun. I find the ivory grips interesting, because according to the pink sheets from 1906 to 1911, only checkered wood grips were offered for square-butt M&P revolvers. Later price sheets from 1913 and 1917 show only checker wood grip offered. The grips, if factory, would have been either a special order from one of the eastern distributors, or possibly done by the engraver. This gun is, at least, a 1905 1st change, because it has the redesigned trigger return rebound slide. It looks like it has the screw-on extractor rod nob.
