M&P 32
So I have been searching for one of these...today I walk into a shop north of the 'Burgh and I see a well worn k frame in the case.. $459.. tag says 32S&W long...so I have my hand on my wallet as I ask the guy to show it to me.. I turned it over to see the dreaded W.C.F. on the barrel... my disappointment is overwhelming

Referring to 32-20? I have just resisted adding one of those...i have a couple K32s, and would only buy a 32-20 if it was a really nice one at a price too hard to ignore.

The .32-20 is a fun cartridge! A K frame .22 cylinder could be rechambered to .32 Long or .32 H&R Magnum and then fitted to a .32-20.
I'm working on converting a Model 15 to .327 Federal. I have a .32-20 cylinder and yoke that fits the frame quite nicely.

The 32-20s are great fun, I have several S&Ws, a couple Colt's and a Winchester or two. But, I too keep looking for that M&P in 32 Long although while I'm wishing I'm wishing to find one in the target version. I may find one yet, only been looking consciously for 20 years or so now.

I am in awe of those of you who find the elusive M&Ps in 32 S&W Long! I’m not sure why I want one so badly, but I do! It’s about the only revolver without adjustable sights that really speaks to me.
I have a M&P 32-20 and have thought of fitting it with an auxiliary cylinder in 32 S&W L, but bottom line, don’t want to spend the money for that gun if it’s not original… I’ve already had a faux Model 16-3 built as well as the infamous “Project 616” so maybe at my age I should rest on my laurels and just enjoy shooting them.
Regardless, the 32 S&W Long in a K frame revolver is a joy to shoot. While the I- and J frames are technically the “32 frame” the bigger gun tames the little bit of recoil generated by this round to virtually nil!

Allegedly, there were only about 4800 of the .32 M&Ps made. It has been said that the majority were exported, and few were sold in the USA. The big question is where those exported guns went. Some have been reported from Mexico and Brazil. They were serial numbered in the high S range into the low C range. Mine is SN S9911xx which also shipped on 4/21/48 to Sloane's Sporting Goods. Most known examples have 4" barrels, but mine has a 5" barrel. There are a few 2" snubbies known, and those may be the rarest of all K-frame snubbies.
