27 no dash
I'm partial to post-war, pre-1957 S&W revolvers, but every once in a while a later model comes along that pushes my buttons. Hence, my latest (and lucky) pick-up. The pictures were taken hastily, and belie the real beauty of this gun. The stocks are of later vintage, but will be replaced with correct ones. I've never pursued a no dash model 27, but I took a flyer on this one and won it. It dates to 1958, and is in amazing condition. The barrel is 6 1/2". I'm have a little trouble getting used to the missing upper sideplate screw, but I suppose I'll get used to it.

That is a beauty - with or without the fifth screw. When you put a set of period-appropriate grips on it, it will transform in your eyes. It still has the 4th screw and looks to be an extremely clean example of a less common 6.5" barrel length .357 Magnum.
Congrats and thanks for sharing with the rest of us.

Proper stocks
Here is the 27 wearing the correct, though not numbers matching, diamond magnas. Now I can sleep at night. LOL

That sure is a nice one. Kind of unique being a 4-screw. Looks great with magna’s. The targets might be more comfortable to shoot with though.
Very nice revolver.👍
