Regulation Police .32Long
Looking for an approximate date on a Regulation Police Serial Number 357466. S&W 4th edition only lists 1917 - 1942. I don't own it (yet). Its got a 4 in barrel and the mushroom style ejector rod cap, and the stocks longer than the grip frame.
Thanks in advance.

My # 489227 was shipped in July 1928, others will have closer info.
Really fun guns and a snappy little round.

Around 1923-4 would be my best guess. I have a couple around 380xxx that shipped in 1924. The barrel is probably 4.25".

#357466 is likely 1921. Especially if it doesn't have the "MADE IN USA" on the front right side of the frame which was ordered in mid 1922 and started showing up stamped on guns shipped towards the beginning of 1923.

Check the barrel length again. The standard barrel lengths back then were 3 1/4", 4 1/4" and 6".
