Default Identify stocks

I read this thread today:

New To Me Heavy Duty

- and realized that I never asked if anyone could tell me if these stocks are sambar stag or something else so today I'm asking. Thanks.

Thanks, y'all.

Quick story.

I bought that gun around 9 years ago. It was sitting in the glass counter at the LGS and had been there awhile. I had seen it there several times, totally ignored by everyone.

I asked to see it and, admittedly, I have learned a lot since then, so I had no idea what it was. Just that it was a really large revolver that was not a single action design (I actually thought it was when I first saw it).

Okay, it's a Smith & Wesson, I guess I should buy it. So I did. The owner, with whom I am very friendly, checked me out and at that moment, knowing how many S&W guns I had bought from him, said "You should probably get on the Smith & Wesson Forum online".

Hmmm......okay, I'll check it out, I reckon. So I did and the rest is history because immediately after getting on this Forum I liked it so much I joined the SWCA - that LGS owner wrote the sponsoring letter!

So, remember this was around 9 years ago. I probably didn't pay $500.00 for that .38-44 but, if I did, I assure you I did not pay $600.00. And those sambar stags were on there!

And it was the first picture I posted to the Forum and, thus, became my avatar here.
