5 Screw Hand Ejector
Does anyone know if S&W ever made any of their hand ejectors in a 32-30 caliber? I know there were 32-20's but I had never heard of a 32-30??? I thought it might be a misprint so just asking. Thanks!

I don't believe there was ever any such thing as a .32-30, unless it was somebody's wildcat. I'm sure what you saw was a typo.

.32-30
There actually WAS a .32-30 BP cartridge, available as a chambering for the Remington-Hepburn #3 target rifle; S&W, however, is not likely to have ever chambered a revolver for it.

Are you sure you meant 32-30? This is a very rare and collectible cartridge today. There are a few calibers in the 32 caliber range, but only the 32-20 was ever made in a revolver. Some of the obsolete 32 calibers were 32-30, 32-35 Stevens, 32-40 Remington, 32-40 Ballard, and 32,40 Bullard. The only other popular 32 caliber still made today is the 32 Winchester Special.

It may have been a misprint in the flyer I saw. May have to call and double check.

Gary is correct. The .32-40 rifle cartridge was originally introduced as a Ballard cartridge for the Ballard rifles. It became a very popular cartridge for target work. Eventually, it was "adopted" by Winchester and is most frequently referred to as the .32-40 Winchester. But it is the same cartridge.
The Marlin people produced a version under their own name, but the only difference was the weight of the factory loaded bullet. Case dimensions were identical.

I double checked and was told it was indeed a 32-20.
