Interesting, nice gun. Sold for about twice what I'd have been willing to pay but probably not many nicer ones out there. Wonder why they didn't show the letter? Would have thought one that late would have had magna stocks but maybe not.

😳 and the prices of just “nice Outdoorsman” just went up some more.
If your a collector and haven’t already got some of the more coveted models your window of opportunity might be closing.
Wish I knew when this will end. I am so far out of step with the “new normal” it’s laughable.
Sure is a gorgeous one.

In my collection, I have one of the last prewars. #62022, shipped 7-22-1940 to a person. As one may expect, it was shipped with the numbered magnas and a Humpback Hammer. The hammer has the concentric grooves and both are shown in the letter.
My gun is pretty much NIB without the tools.
I thought maybe I paid too much, $3500[, but now am rethinking that, as mine is a tad nicer, and the box is real nice. Big Larry

Especially high $$ for a re-blued gun, what did they use a blueing pen??
Now for the truth.... That is an amazingly preserved firearm, like it was frozen in time.

That one is just a little bit above my pay grade. It is nice to look upon.

Speaking of "nice" as in the finish, was the original finish like that on ALL Outdoorsmen from that pre-war period?? I saw one at a show with a small amount of wear from normal use, on the barrel, front edge of the cyinder, trigger guard etc. No abuse, no scratches, nicks, no "patina"... however, the finish was not nearly high polish like that. It was in a case with several other revolvers, and did not stand out as very high polish compared to the rest... ? The one I saw did not exactly outshine a M-27 on the same table.
