Default .22 lr identification

Hello, I recently inherited what I believe to be a model 17. I'd like to confirm that as well as get an idea for when it may have been manufactured. The S/N is K25027. Please see the attached photos. Thanks!!!

Welcome to the Forum.

You have a K22 made before model numbers were assigned in 1957. Yours dates to the late 1940s, just after the end of WW II.

Probably shipped in 1948. Its proper name is K-22 Masterpiece.

The closest serial number in my list of known ship dates is K24316. That one is a K-38 Masterpiece and it shipped in May, 1948.

Yes. And they are probably original.

That is a wonderful inheritance. A beautiful revolver to remember them by and many hours of shooting enjoyment with that one, for sure.
Wish the pictures were larger.

The pictures are small but it appears to me that you also have what collectors have dubbed a 'one liner'. On the right side of the frame between the cylinder and trigger guard is stamped 'Made in USA'. They changed that to a four line address stamp shortly after your K22 was made.
