Default PRE WAR 38-44

Have a chance to pick up a 1934 Pre War 38-44 in original box with factory letter. The gun is as new and may be unfired. Values seem to be all over the board, blue book $2400, SCSW $2800, sold on gun broker $1700. What’s this thing worth!!! Oh, it’s a 5 inch

Oh, it’s a 5 inch[/QUOTE]

Does the letter state that it shipped as a 5 inch?

Not sure what it is worth but as described a LOT more than $1700. Pictures please.

Bonnie has had it for a long time. I’ve definitely given it some serious consideration. Offered $1500 last week, but got shot down. Nice piece

Since the exact model name was not mentioned, I must ask: Is this revolver a Heavy Duty or an Outdoorsman? Both were possible in 1934, but the adjustable sights of the Outdoorsman would make it worth a boatload more than the asking price if it was so configured when it left the factory.

Either way, would you be willing to let us know the serial number?

With a five inch barrel, one would assume it's a Heavy Duty. But if by chance it should just happen to be a five inch Outdoorsman...

Well, you know...
