Default Nickel Triple Lock

I picked this one up recently and thought I would share pictures.
I generally prefer blued guns, but the clean nickel finish on this one is exceptional.

What’s the serial number?

You seem to be on a roll. You’ve gotten several Triple Lock revolvers in a very short period of time.

I’m down to maybe one yearly on average. They’ve escalated in price recently but are still probably fairly priced as they were definitely underpriced pre inflation days.

A lot of the 6 1/2” nickel ones turn up in the 10,000 and 11,000 range, shipping in 1915. I have two in this range.

Yes, would the OP provide several more photographs in better natural lighting, that would be greatly appreciated. It’s difficult to tell from the photographs provided if a refinish or not.

It does look awfully shiny, but the serial number looks very crisp and the cam lock does not look to be refinished, both of which suggest original finish. Oftentimes, a refinished Triple Lock revolver ends up with a refinished cam lock, reblued or renickeled, whatever the case may be, obliterating the original case coloured surface.

Do you have a factory letter? If not, here’s what it will say:

Triple Lock, sn 9383, 44 Special, 6 1/2" barrel, nickel finish, gold medallion grips, shipped to Cowdery Export Co., New York City on October 6, 1914.

Yes, I believe it is a well done factory refinish. Star is present on the cylinder face. Grip is date stamped 12/79. Locking stud, trigger and hammer are not nickeled.
I’ll try to post more pics later.

Not sure these pictures are much better. These nickel guns are hard to photograph!

I think it’s a well executed factory refinish as well. I would contact the SWHF and see if they have any information on the work performed in December of 1979.
